World War I Era

In the period leading up to and immediately following WWI, theories on the job of aircraft in war time were mixed. While some viewed aircraft as something to be used on its own with no ground support, others viewed aircraft as a way to support ground troops sort of as a flying artillery units, while others viewed aircraft as more for long range purposes to be used for crippling enemy infrastructure. Books in the World War I Era section do not all focus on the use of air power during WWI, many of them focus on other things going on with aircraft and aircraft related technologies in that time frame.
